Profile
Donna Eichel's work is about contradiction and materials.
Her art reveals the work ethic of her upbringing on an Alberta farm. That ethic was and still remains work hard; don't be afraid to get your hands dirty, and; enjoy what you are doing.
Donna began her professional career as a registered nurse before becoming a military wife and mother. She began to make art while raising two energetic sons and moving often about Canada and the United States. Donna has studied at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax, the University of Manitoba and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BFA from the University of Ottawa.
Donna's preoccupation has been contradictions that exist between the beautiful and the ugly; the old and the new; the past, present and the future. Her techniques reveal a fascination for, and a love of, manipulating materials.
Donna Eichel's work is held in public and private collections throughout Canada.
